Welcome
Ecosystem Genomics seeks to understand the interaction between information encoded in genes and ecosystem processes. By investigating how to scale from genes to ecosystems, and how ecosystems select for and influence genomic composition, we can improve understanding and prediction of how natural and managed systems function and respond to change.
Ecosystem Genomics includes the Ecosystem Genomics Initiative and the Ecosystem Genomics Graduate Interdisciplinary Program which serves as the jewel of the BRIDGES NSF Research Traineeship program.
Our Programs
Ecosystem Genomics Training Program
U of A students can earn a graduate certificate or PhD minor in Ecosystem Genomics through BRIDGES. Learn more....
Ecosystem Genomics Initiative
EGI seeks to discover the emergent properties and processes of ecosystems through ‘top down’ analysis of communities, populations and organisms, and ‘bottom up’ analysis of genomes, transcriptomes and metabolomes. Learn more....
Ecosystem Genomics Activities
The Ecosystem Genomics community gathers each year for our seminar series presentations and our Convergence Institute. Learn more....
